What is the time commitment?
Tuesday nights are Troop nights: 6:30 to 8pm, every week. Add monthly campout and other fun opportunities like service projects, and your son will always have something to look forward to.
How much does Scouting cost?
Dues run about $220 annually, with additional costs for campouts and special activities. We also smoke a mean rack of ribs every year! This fundraiser helps offset dues and purchase supplies.
Is my son a good fit?
Troop 46 is built for all kinds of kids: the outdoorsy ones, the curious ones, the quiet ones, and everyone in between. No experience required, just an open mind and a sense of adventure.
How do Troop meetings work?
Scouts run them. Our elected Senior Patrol Leader leads meetings and campouts, with adults coaching from the sidelines. There are other Scouts elected to leadership roles that support as well.
How are the Scouts organized?
Scouts are organized into patrols of 8-10, composed of Scouts that are mixed in age. This helps younger Scouts learn from the older ones, and older Scouts gain leadership experience.
How do you keep Scouts safe?
Troop 46 follows Scouting America's Youth Protection policies, including two-deep leadership and trained, background-checked adult volunteers at every activity. Learn more.
